I am a mother, a partner, a sister, a daughter and a friend.
I’m a home-maker, a spell-breaker, a truth-seeker, & a care-taker.
I’m a naturalist, an artist, & a land steward.
I’m a grounded, heart-centered, intuitive person who is guided by ancestral wisdom from my Lakota lineage and carry resilience and compassion in my life story.
From a young age I entered womanhood without any education on my hormonal cycle and was surprised, afraid even, by my first period.
Following that shortly after in life I survived a traumatic pelvic injury and medical malpractice.
For years I lived with trauma stored within my womb space and lived in constant pain and numbness, disassociating from my body without awareness of it.
Later on in life I was awakened to the opportunity to heal myself and not accept the state and story I lived in of being disempowered for so many years. I radically changed and set myself in the direction to take ownership and responsibility of the life that I wanted.
Through movement and breath I could release suppressed emotions that were stored in my womb and realized that I have everything i need to heal myself.
I started to study Fertility Awareness Method with my beautiful mentor Chloe Skerlak and tracked my cycle consistently to better understand my body, fertility and health.
When I consciously conceived my daughter and became pregnant, I felt the heaviness of the lack of a village in todays society.
When I knew in my heart and body that my daughter would be born at home in comfort and safety, I didnt receive trust and support from a single person besides from my partner.
I wished so dearly that I had wise women in my community to support me, to trust me as I trusted myself, and to encourage me to birth in power just as all of the women and animals have done since the beginning of time.
But I didn’t.
I yearned for ancestral connection and wisdom that is traditionally passed down from generation to generation, but my elders physical presence have since moved on and seemingly everyone else has forgotten the old way.
I was graced with a blissful birth in the safety of my home in just two and a half hours to my first born daughter.
These life experiences have moved me so truthfully to tend the collective need and show up for women and the future generations.
I have since graduated the Free Birth Society’s Radical Birth Keeper School under the mentorship of Emilee Saldaya and Yolande Norris-Clark and am currently enrolled for their year long Matribirth Midwifery Institute to passionately and devotedly continue to further my education and expand my tools to refine my practice and continue to show up for women as my absolute best and well resourced.
